Roleplay - Asking for Information

A nyelvvizsgára vagy érettségire készülők hasznosnak találhatják a mai bejegyzést, hiszen a szóbeli vizsgákon a képleírás és az önálló témakifejtés mellett a párban eljátszott szituáció is gyakori feladat.

Ez a szóbeli feladat abból áll, hogy adva van egy szituáció, melyet pár mondatban körülírnak (angolul vagy magyarul), és azt el kell játszani a vizsgáztatóval vagy a másik vizsgázóval – vizsgatípustól függően. A szituáció elolvasása után két dolgot kell felismernünk: először is milyen témakört érint, tehát milyen szókincsre van szükségünk, illetve milyen nyelvi funkció ismerete szükséges ahhoz, hogy a szituációt megfelelően elő tudjuk adni. (pl.: információt, tanácsot, segítséget kell kérnünk/adnunk, telefonálnunk kell, vagy programot megszerveznünk stb.) 

Az előző minta szituációkban tanácsot kellett adni, illetve megegyezésre kellett jutni most egy olyan következik, amelyben a másiktól bizonyos információkat kell megtudnunk. Maga a helyzet és a kifejtendő pontok angolul lesznek felvázolva. (Figyelem! Nagyon fontos, hogy a megadott szempontokról mindenképpen szó essék, mivel ennek elmaradása pontlevonással járhat a vizsgán.) 

Roleplay - Asking for Information

You would like to rent a flat, and you have just read an advertisement in the local newspaper. It seems that the place would be suitable for you, so you are interested in finding out more details. You are calling the owner of the flat and asking about the following information:

- the exact address

- how many rooms it has

- how much the rent is

- if pets are allowed

- the neighbourhood

You: Hello. This is Sarah Johnson, and I'm calling about the flat. I've seen your advertisement in the newspaper.

Owner: Oh, hello. This is Sean McClusky. How can I help you?

Y: I'm looking for a flat to rent, so could you give me some more information about your place?

O: Sure. What are you interested in?

Y: First, can you tell me what the exact address is?

O: 25 Oak Street. Do you know the area?

Y: I'm not sure... Is it near the new shopping centre? 

O: Yeah, it's a ten-minute walk from there.

Y: OK, I see. The advertisement says that there are two rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. Is that correct?

O: Absolutely. The flat has a relatively large living room with a nice view of a small park opposite the building. It has a bedroom with a balcony. The kitchen and the bathroom have just been modernized, so I'm sure you would like them. 

Y: That sounds fantastic. What about the rent?

O: Ł600 a month plus gas and electricity bills. 

Y: OK, and then I would like to know if pets are allowed in the flat.

O: Well... it depends on what kind of pet you have. It's a quiet neihbourhood, so a barking dog wouldn't be such a good idea.

Y: Actually, I have a Persian cat.

O: That's fine then.

Y: I'm glad to hear that. There's one more thing I'd like to ask. What is the neighbourhood like? I mean public transport, shops, entertainment facilities and so on.

O: Well, it takes about 5 minutes to get to the nearest bus stop, and the buses run quite frequently, so I would say transport is really good. There didn't use to be many shops around here, but since the new shopping centre opened, it has not been a problem at all. I'm sure you'll find everything you need there. You can even go to the cinema. 

Y: Great. Thank you for the information. I am really interested in renting this flat. When can I see it?

O: Well, I think tomorrow afternoon I'll be free. What about 4 o'clock?

Y: Perfect. See you tomorrow then.

O: See you. Good bye.

(Természetesen ez csak egy minta, és nem az egyedüli helyes megoldása a feladatnak. Viszont érdemes a kiemelt kifejezéseket és szófordulatokat megjegyezni, hiszen más szituációkban is nagyszerűen használhatók.)
